Shield of Faith-Digital Album

FRESHImage Records is happy to introduce, Cantores Sancti Ludovici, in their debut album, Shield of Faith, recorded live.

Recorded live, the chants contained in this album have been selected because they would have been familiar to the crusader knights, either from their various fatherlands, or the liturgy of the Holy Sepulchre itself.

The sacred texts ornamented by their melodies delve into the symbolism of pilgrimage to the earthly Jerusalem as a type and foreshadowing of the New Jerusalem, our Heavenly homeland. We hope that you will be able to hear the intense longing communicated in these chants for the celestial rest we desire to attain at the end of our earthly pilgrimage, a rest promised to faithful crusaders that died in battle.
