On the other, the same language appeals to incense sometimes burned as part of liturgical worship. When brought together, St. Paul is telling us that to be a Christian means to live as a living sacrifice to God, and that by living in this way we spread the Good News about what God has done for us through the loving sacrifice of Christ’s Paschal Mystery.
